How To Surround Yourself With Positivity

Being pessimistic in life means you see the difficulty in every situation. Every task seems daunting and you are always focusing on everything bad that can happen. It’s hard not to be negative, especially if that’s what you’re used to. Everyday situations in life, tasks, errands, responsibilities and commitments, although important to us, take a toll. We can easily become overwhelmed by everything which leads us to becoming more negative.

Positivity is a powerful force, that helps us maintain a good attitude and high spirit even when we have too much on our plate. There is no such thing as a naturally more positive or negative person, we can all adapt our outlooks on life and change them.

So, if you feel like your outlook on life has become more of a negative one, one in which you don’t feel as happy as you think you should, it’s time you started surrounding yourself with positivity:

Affirmations

With the help of affirmations, we can “reprogram” our unconscious mind from negative thinking and turn it into positive thinking. Think about what you want to be part of your life. What kind of lifestyle, job, partner or income you’d like and constantly repeat them until they become part of your natural thought process, until you no longer have to repeat anything, the statements are just present and constantly in your mind. This type of thought process affects you just like the negative affirmations you’ve gotten so used to, but instead, this time round in a much more positive way.

Influences

Most of the time people are stuck in their negativity. They don’t realize how much of it is to do with the external influences that surround them. Negative people and work places for example, affect us more than we think they do. You may have a friend that is always complaining about something, and although you care about them, you can’t help but feel drained after listening to them for the past two hours complain about their job or personal life. Now, I’m not saying that you should just quit being friends with people like that, but you need to know when enough is enough. If something or someone is affecting your wellbeing on a large scale, try to minimize your exposure. Surround yourself with positive people and positive places.

Have Goals

Goals give us guidance in life. No matter how much potential you have, how smart you are or experienced you are if you don’t have goals, where will you input all of that potential, talent, intelligence and experience? Setting goals gives us an idea of where we are going, the progress in between setting them and getting to the end results provides us with even more experience and the sense of achievement is a powerful motivator – pushing us further than we ever thought we could go. Goals also keep us “in line” and we don’t waste time, because we know what needs to get done, which leaves no space for negativity.

It’s You

It’s down to what you make of life. You can have all the positivity in the world around you, but if you don’t want to see it, you’ll still be seeing things negatively. Everything that is happening in your life is happening because you’ve made it happen. If you don’t like it, you are the only one that can change it!
